For the enrolment procedure, please complete the following steps:

WARNING: If you are a non-EU citizen residing abroad before the online registration, please remember that you have to do the pre-enrolment procedure at the Italian Embassy/Consulate in the country where you reside (https://www.unipi.it/index.php/enrolment/itemlist/category/554-non-eu-citizenship)

1) Online registration

  • To register you have to enter your personal details into the Alice web portal in the following way: the first required information is your tax code. If the system detects that your tax code exists, this means that you are already registered and that you need to recover your username and password using the option ‘Forgotten your password’. In the event that more than one person has the same tax code assigned by the Agenzia delle Entrate, please contact matricolandosi@adm.unipi.it
  • At the end of this procedure, the system will allocate you a username and you will be able to choose a password.
  • Start the registration

2) Choosing the degree course

  • You can choose a degree course only after completing the registration procedure; all you need to do is following the instructions provided. If you prefer to choose your degree course later, please access the portal by clicking on "Login" and then clicking on the option "Choose a course (enrolment)".
Three options will come up: shorten the duration of your study program (if you already have a university qualification); standard enrolment (if you want to enroll in a Bachelor's or a Single-Cycle’s degree course); incoming transfer student (for those coming from another University).
  • The system will ask you to upload the following: a scanned copy of your  identity document, a passport-size photo in electronic format, a scanned copy of your Residency Permit or the Post Office receipt of your Residency Permit Application  (for non-EU citizens),  and to enter details regarding your High School Diploma (the year of completion, the school attended and the grade obtained). The requested documents (in electronic format) must be in a jpg, jpeg or pdf format and should not exceed 3MB.  The photo must be in a jpg or jpeg format with a resolution of at least 480x480 pixel (and a maximum file size no bigger than 2MB). It must be a square sized photograph, which portrays your face on a light background. This photo will be used to personalize your university booklet and your student card.

Photos that will not be accepted:

  • Panoramic photographs taken from a distance, of you facing backwards or where you cannot see your entire face (due to scarves, hats, sunglasses,…)
  • Rotated or dark photos
  • Group photos or photos with other people
  • Drawings or cartoons
  • Photos of other people

3) Payment of the first installment

If you have not applied for a scholarship from the DSU, after completing the section called 'Choosing a degree program' you have to pay the first installment for 2019/2020. Select the menu option 'Tuition Fees', then choose a payment method:

  • Pay online with PagoPA: the payment will be registered in a few minutes
  • Print the PagoPA notice (in PDF): pay it in one of the authorized merchants (credit institution, tobacco shops with SisalPay or Lottomatica service).
  • Print the MAV (if available): you can pay it in any bank. Payment will be registered in 3/4 days.

Please note: in case of disability greater than 66%, exemption from the tuition fees is granted, but the revenue stamp (marca da bollo) is still required. When ‘Choosing a degree program’ the student will be asked to upload their medical certificate where their conditions are declared. Other specific categories foreseen on the Regulation on student contributions, articles 1.1.2. lett. d) e) and 1.1.3 lett. c) (e.g. recipients of an Italian government scholarship, winners of competitions,  prison inmates) are required to contact matricolandosi@adm.unipi.it  in order to ask for a customized electronic invoice.

4) Completing the enrolment procedure

In order to complete the enrolment procedure, please print your enrolment form (FORIM) and your individual electronic invoice (MAV). You also have to hand in the following documents in person:

  • The original version and a photocopy of your High school diploma.
  • Official translation into Italian of the Diploma, legalised (or with an "apostille") and validated by the Italian authorities in your country with the Declaration of Value (DV) of your diploma (Dichiarazione di Valore)- issued by the Italian authorities in your home country and which verifies that you have already attended 12 years of schooling. Alternatively, you could bring the ENIC-NARIC certificate (in English or in Italian). Please include a photocopy of all documents.
  • A Photocopy of a valid ID.
  • A Scanned copy of the residency permit or of the Postal Office receipt of the application for the Residency Permit (for non-EU citizens).
  • The payment receipt for the first instalment of the tuition fees or the receipt of your DSU scholarship application if you meet the requirements. After the 30th of September 2019, it will be necessary to include the penalty fees due to late enrolment.

You must have at least 12 years of schooling in order to be admitted to the University. If you are under 18 years old, your  FORIM form must also include the signature and a photocopy of an ID  of a parent/legal guardian.
